A huge hello to all you dog lovers out there!
And a very warm welcome to our gorgeous, super dog friendly holiday cottages on the beautiful east coast of Yorkshire.

We've both loved dogs since we were knee-high to a grasshopper, both having grown up with them being a big part of our lives. We currently have a lovely cocker spaniel called Mabel who’s coming up to 3 and a half years old now. We were so lucky to find Mabel during the pandemic and the joy she has brought into our lives has been even more than we ever expected.

We know first hand that it’s not always that easy to find really gorgeous cottages to go on holiday when you have one or more dogs. Which is why we wanted to make our 2 cottages the ultimate combination of being truly dog friendly, as well as super stylish, beautiful and luxurious for you.

Below you can read more about our truly dog friendly philosophy. We hope you like what you read. And if you have any questions or suggestions, we’d love to hear from you.

Best wishes,

John & Nicola,
and of course doggie Mabel x
Truly dog friendly, not just 'dog tolerant'
Unfortunately there still seems to be quite a few holiday cottages out there who say they are dog friendly, but then when you get there you find that they have all sorts of restrictions for your doggies – more of a case of being ‘dog tolerant’ rather than genuinely dog friendly.

At Boutique Cottages, we’re proud to say that our cottages are truly dog friendly. There are absolutely no restrictions on where your dogs can go in the cottages, or where they can sleep, lie, sit. So sofas, chairs, beds, floor are all up for grabs for your dogs to enjoy – the cottages really are their oyster!

This is because we want your beloved pooches to be as happy as you are when you’re enjoying a holiday in one of our luxury cottages. After all, it’s their holiday as well!
Truly dog friendly, that's also
gorgeous and luxurious
The other common problem is that being genuinely dog friendly can often lead a cottage owner down the path of making their cottage look a bit drab and basic, with a welter of uninspiring blankets and throws everywhere.

With our 2 cottages, we really wanted to create something truly wonderful and very special, to show that being genuinely dog friendly doesn’t have to be this way at all. Both of our cottages are sumptuously furnished and gorgeously decorated, with stylish, contemporary designs, finished to such a high standard.

All designed to bring you a fabulous home from home holiday experience that’s 100% dog friendly, as well as truly gorgeous and luxurious.
How many doggies?
If you’ve got more than 2 dogs, it can be very difficult to find somewhere lovely to go on holiday because so many cottages stipulate a limit of 2.

In our Beach House cottage we have a recommendation for up to 4 dogs, but in truth we don’t mind at all. If you have 5 or 8 dogs, we completely trust your judgment as owners if you say they will be happy in the space that the Beach House provides (which is very generous for a 2 bedroom cottage). So the more the merrier. We’ve had a guest with 5 dogs, and everyone (humans and doggies alike) absolutely loved it.

We do only suggest 2 dogs in our other cosy cottage, Salty Paws, just because it is smaller than the Beach House. But again, if you wanted to stay in Salty Paws with 3 or 4 dogs and were happy that it would work for you, it would be absolutely fine by us.
The pampered pooch on their luxury holiday
We’re sure your doggies will be begging you to come back again to our cottages after they’ve stayed there because they loved how well equipped the cottages were for them (as well as for humans). Here’s what they offer:

1. All dogs stay free of charge. . .of course
2. No restrictions at all, your dogs can go anywhere and sit/lie/sleep anywhere
3. Freshly washed dog blanket and towels provided for them to enjoy when sitting/lying/sleeping anywhere
4. Fully enclosed, private garden
5. Outstanding, uncrowded, all-year-round dog friendly beaches at the end of the road where the cottages are, where your dogs can run, swim, walk for miles at low tide
6. Outside doggie spa for washing muddy/sandy paws
7. Plenty of space for all their doggie paraphernalia
8. Water bowl and feeding mat, as well as a water bottle to take on walks

Everything a pampered pooch on their luxury holibobs could wish for!
